Clive Lewis.

One of The Labour leadership hopefuls annoyed me this morning. I read in the Guardian that he had stated that in order to beat Tories in the future "Labour would need to work with other progressives."
It is the use of the word 'progressive' which irritates me so much.
Throughout the world, extreme socialists and marxists have wrecked the lives of billions since 1917 across a broad selection of nations by guaranteeing that exceptional, unnecessary poverty besets countries because dogma trumps reality. Currently, Venezuela is a superb example.
Wrecked lives is one thing but the fear engendered is horrendous. The 200 million deaths caused by these people are considered trivial.
I would add another 50 million to that figure because people forget that Hitler's Nazis were also socialists. (The clue is that Nazi means National Socialist.)
So, Mr Lewis. What is 'progressive' about looking backwards to vile systems which devalue human worth and individuality?
It is fine to allow people to guess their own gender, I suppose, because that is economically neutral but as always, the grasp of economics by socialists over generations has been nothing short disastrous.
