Hi,
Every morning the CSW team gathers to pray, and at the start of the year we committed to God all we’re doing in 2020. I’d like to also ask you to join us.
Looking ahead to 2020, I’m filled with excitement.
CSW is working on some of the biggest initiatives we’ve ever taken on, that will change many lives. But I also know we’re facing some ‘giants’ who would like to stop us.

On Boxing Day, Chinese authorities tried Pastor Wang Yi and later sentenced him to nine years on charges of ‘inciting to subvert state power’ and ‘illegal business operations’. In reality, all he did is peacefully stand up for churches and Christians targeted by the Chinese government.
We’ll continue to raise Pastor Wang’s case at the UN, with the British government and the US State Department, calling for his immediate and unconditional release.
The Chinese authorities wish we’d keep quiet
In fact, China was one of several UN Member States who effectively blocked CSW’s application for consultative status at the UN for eight years. Against the odds, we were granted that important status in April 2017, giving us a greater ability to expose injustices committed by countries like China.
We continue to stand with all those across the world facing injustice because of their religion or belief – Nigeria and Burma are two countries where we’ll be particularly focusing our efforts this year.
