Lepra.

Dear  All,

It is my pleasure to introduce the World Leprosy Day edition of Lepra News which focuses on the theme: Leprosy is curable. The real challenge is stigma.

Myths, fear, and misinformation continue to delay diagnosis, restrict access to services, and deny affected persons their dignity and rights. LEPRA Society’s experience shows that tackling leprosy requires not only medical treatment, but sustained efforts to change mindsets.

In this issue, you can read how our Information, Education and Communication activities are addressing the social roots of leprosy-related stigma.

Learn how Bizly, an inspirational community volunteer, is helping to change hearts and minds about leprosy.

Read how our educational mobile units are addressing barriers by taking accurate, accessible health information directly into communities.

We are proud of our achievements, but there is still so much more we could do.

With your support, we can continue to reduce stigma, increase detection and prevent lasting disabilities.

Thank you,

Burkina Faso.
