Even more bad science?

Some years ago I read of a group of people who lived very long lives indeed in the Andes and the piece claimed that this was in part due to high salt intakes rather than what has been rammed down our throats by scientists for decades that 'salt is one step down from potassium cyanide'.
So, using my inbuilt 'suspicion meter' - I have always been a little bit dubious about the role of table salt with regards to health - although our household has paid about four times as much as usual for Lo Salt - just in case!
Whenever scientists 'go off on one' and do not brook counter arguments - I get extremely doubtful.
Now, look what I found in today's Mail:

'The study, which followed 3,681 healthy European men and women aged 60 or younger, for about eight years, also found that above-average salt intake did not appear to increase the danger of developing high blood pressure.'

One more pseudo-scientific myth debunked?
