Tragically for society, there are considerably more single mothers who find themselves in that position out of: stupidity, promiscuity, rank carelessness or downright streetwise cunning. To deny that there are tens of thousands - maybe more - who use state benefits as a career opportunity is to close eyes to the facts.
What is more, I heard of a case over the weekend of a young woman who would bemuch better off financially abandoning her present partner and getting pregnant by a different man. This is what our benefits culture causes.

This MUST end. The attractiveness of breeding can be reduced by insisting that only a minimum level of benefits will be given and the girl must live with parents OR they must be placed in structured hostels with rules to benefit the children far more than the mothers. Council flats? - No way!
We live on an overcrowded island. We would be well advised to put an end to child benefits for those who, in the future, opt to have more than two children.
