The Huffington Post reports that former Foreign Secretary Jack Straw has warned against any further major EU treaties being passed without the direct approval of the public. The European Parliament has “not worked” as a democratic institution, Straw claimed.
Has he 'seen the light' - or is this typical Labour posturing? In his long career - and I even remember him as President of the NUS when I was a student - he has always shown occasional lapses when a certain clarity of thought has broken through!
