Former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney has written to an Indian minister asking him to intervene in the plight of Sunder, a baby elephant which has been cruelly beaten and manacled with mediaeval spiked chains. His letter, written during rehearsals for the Olympic opening ceremony, warns that 'the world is watching'.
