Picking Cook as captain of the ODI side was a grievous mistake - patently obvious long before the decision was made. You can maybe argue that he is a worthy Test Captain (although I certainly wouldn't) but he is thoroughly ill-equipped for the one day game. England has now developed a culture of losing. Good batsmen have played like amateurs. Bowlers trying to make a name for themselves have proved incapable of professionalism. What true bowler cannot control basic line and length? We have not been beaten in the two matches thus far - we have been thrashed! Since the last tour of New Zealand, the decay has been evident and nobody seems to have a clue how to tackle it. (Was Swann really the link which held the whole side together?) Talk about 'a whimper not a bang'. I wonder what Wednesday will bring?
