Bed-Blocking MUST Be Stopped.

The head of the NHS has admitted that bed-blocking in hospitals is a 'systemic problem'. Simon Stevens, chief executive of NHS England, agreed that significant change was needed to reduce delays. Mail.
There are far too many instances where beds are blocked because medication from the hospital pharmacies takes an eternity to arrive.
After being released by my surgeon when fit to leave after a hernia op - I was kept in for a further 27 hours waiting for an INR test and some painkillers! (This is common!)
