I was hugely impressed by the straightforward nature of the reporting - including the negative bits - especially where the 'disciple heroes' were concerned.
I knew enough from RK in school to realise that the Old Testament did not hide the awful traits of some of the OT heroes, either.
Add to this blatant honesty, the religious extracts I had seen from other religions which were a huge mass of mythologising tripe and absurd contradictions that no sane person could even contemplate as real, and I was truly shaken up.
Please do remember: either all religions are wrong or just one is right. You cannot possibly harmonise monotheism and polytheism - as a single example out of many.
