Oh, Good Grief!

It's just not cricket! Sport's bosses rename 'Man of the Match' award to make them more gender-neutral in England and Wales 

India's Virat Kohli was named 'player of the match' after his country's Third Test win over England at Trent Bridge. The move follows changes by the MCC, the custodian of the laws of the game. Mail.
So just what is wrong with 'man of the match' in a men's game and 'woman of the match' in a women's game?
