Sex Education Is Taught In A Vacuum.

In recent days we have heard of a variety of sexual horrors our nation has bestowed to young children and the terrible consequences thereof in a number of ways.
As somebody who has taught sex ed' - and I think pretty well - over several decades, I must declare that 'naked sex education' is only one step above useless.
It usually ends up consisting of 'information' coupled with a total 'non-judgmentalism' and a smattering of 'whatever you do - do it as safely as you can.'
At no point does such a wretched approach meet the needs of children. It also disrespects laws about the age of criminal responsibility - and treats them as if they are inconsequential.
I am never against 'dialogue' between Christians and other religions - it is only in what is discussed and in a total rejection of ALL 'multifaith' projects where I get white-knuckled.
This is an area where Christians, Jews, Muslims, Sikhs and Hindus could surely work together to halt forms of sex education which are anathema to all of us.

'Lesser evils' do I perhaps hear you think? - Well, maybe so. But if we can let it be seen that the whole of sexual behaviour falls into 'moral territory' we may not have achieved the goals we would want - but it would be more than a single step in the right direction.
