David Quarrie In The YP.

Cameron knows full well the nation’s views on the euro, the EU, the war in Afghanistan, foreign aid, the bankers, immigration, crime, the NHS, the “cuts” in the wrong areas, the tax dodging by the mega-rich and big business, homosexual and lesbian “marriages”, welfare payments, grammar schools, and many more right wing topics, but dares not to carry out the wishes of so many of the English voting public.Only about 12 per cent of voters supported the Conservatives in May 2010, because much as they disliked Labour and the Liberal Democrats, they had no faith in Cameron.I have lived in England for nearly 66 years and never before have I been so unhappy and in such total despair with our political parties. Only Ukip offer me any hope for the future!

Mr Quarrie is right about everything he mentions in his letter. His facts are straightforward and undeniable. There is just one thing which troubles me in his assessment. He refers to the listed beliefs as being 'rightwing'. I do not believe this to be the case. Almost every view listed, a mere half century ago would have been considered of the political centre or sometimes as the centre right. It horrifies me that basic common sense has been turned into 'rightwing' today ~ such is the massive leftward shift by the ruling political elites of our nation. The real extreme here is the massive and unwanted lurch to the left by the out of touch and the terminally undemocratic. They fool and betray us all whenever they now portray their idiocies as being'the politics of the centre.'
Mr Quarrie should not be drawn into playing their game for them.

Phew.
