Deaths Of The Innocent.

A murder is committed every ten days by offenders out on bail, according to figures released yesterday.

What a crazy world. Effectively, capital punishment was abolished because enough people could be found to worry themselves silly that a 'wrongful execution' could potentially occur once every couple of decades.
(Incidentally, EVERY claim to 'executed innocence' has been wrong, from Evans to Hanratty. Only Bentley was unlucky but he was both technically and morally guilty in spite of propaganda efforts to prove the contrary.)
Let us compare, shall we?
Let us generously allow that one 'innocent' could have been executed in that 12 year period.
Why would that notional victim outweigh the 436 above?
Why are they not as important?
How many of those would not have lost their lives if:
a) Bail had been sensibly employed and
b) A genuine deterrent had been in place?
