The litany of solemn warnings from the “health and safety is paramount” brigade. In the event a blustery autumn morning in the South; up here less wind than provided by a can of beans.
Still, you might fairly say, predicting such events 72 hours ahead is fraught with uncertainty. True enough. But hang on a moment. Aren’t these the same Met Office people that are predicting events 72 years ahead? The same experts who are solemnly assuring us that we are all doomed if we don’t close our power stations and wreck our countryside, and economy, by replacing them with thousands of almost comically useless windmills. And let us not forget the solar panels, that produce their trickle of electricity only when you don’t need it.
