It is reported that Marine Le Pen would actually win the French Presidency if a poll were taken this week. After the lamentable performance of the present incumbent - it is hardly a surprise. Socialism is dead - it surely now needs the mourners to bury the putrescent cadaver and gain a touch of reality. In post-Franco Spain, a hard right party called the Alianza Popular decided to move towards the political centre - and it went on to sweep the board. There is growing evidence that this is what Le Front National is attempting to do and so perhaps this disturbing news is not quite as horrific as it first appears. If I may advise Le Pen, if they are serious, the first step must be to ditch that egregious, fascist parent of hers!
