Well, of course they are leaving! You have to use your entire personality every minute of every lesson to stay in control - and there is no guarantee you will succeed. You have children knowing that they can get away with obstructive behaviour; no real support from above; constant threats of legal action from objectionable parents; senior staff who are terrified of real decision-making; useless talkfests which pass as meetings; being told that you have a great job with oodles of holidays; interfering experts; workloads that can kill and on top of all that - OFSTED which struggles to recognise good teaching as they feel that all teachers should meet politically correct, box-ticking criteria! And if you happen to teach English - the marking will probably mean you have to work seven days a week.
