To those christians (and indeed, Christians) who believe that Jesus abolished the Lex Talionis - may I please point out that The Sermon on The Mount was clearly delivered to INDIVIDUALS. There is no reason whatsoever to take it as reversing the entire Mosaic order.
Furthermore, Jesus warned as to the fate of those who abused children - either physically or spiritually. (Hashtag: Millstones.)
Against this backcloth, I must question how Christians today can possibly believe that Black should not have been executed. This would certainly not have been the stance of most believers over previous centuries. Theirs was a more literal and rational interpretation of Scripture.
Can you imagine the feelings and outright terror of a young child kidnapped by this vermin? Can you imagine their appeals being ignored? Can you imagine their horror as they are abused, raped, beaten and sodomised? Can you not hear their desperate pleas for their mother as this scum continues his torture for hour after hideous hour - sometimes, day after dreadful day? Can you believe that this man would cause a child to want to die just to escape him? - Do you possess an ounce of humanity? Can you really defend such a person, when you just know, in your heart of hearts, that his execution might - from time to time - act as deterrent to others? That maybe some other children would not have to face such a fate?
Do you seriously think that believers are instructed not to impose a death sentence on such an evil man? Is a comfortable prison for life really an adequate response?
The Bible teaches the principles of Love - but it also preaches Justice. Not to punish a Robert Black was an act of the purest unrighteousness.
Self explanatory title. I abhor that nicey nicey, politically correct, pseudo-Christianity which almost always supports leftwing attitudes - which in most cases are profoundly anti-Gospel. This Blog supports persecuted Christians. This Blog exposes cults. This Blog opposes junk science. UPDATED DAILY. This is not a forum. This Blog supports truly Christian websites and aids their efforts. It is hardhitting and unashamedly evangelical so if it offends - please do not come to this site!
