England Win The Toss In Mohali But ...

... some dreadful batting by senior players placed England in a most precarious position.
On a two-paced pitch with uneven bounce batting was not easy as young Hameed would testify after being caught from the classic unplayable delivery.
The same could not be said for Moeen and Root who were both out with disgracefully careless strokes.
Cook was dropped twice before departing to yet another poor stroke on a morning which belonged completely to India.
I am not saying that India did not bowl superbly but England top players should be hanging their heads in shame.
At time of writing, a minor recovery sees England on a mediocre 123 for 4 and, once again, it is left to Stokes and Bairstow to try to repair the damage. You cannot keep relying on this duo to such an unreasonable extent, match after match.
