The centre right, our nation's only hope, seems to have capitulated into a degradation of its own as so many bewildered Labour voters are also finding, that in the midst of their angry frustrations, they really have nowhere to go.
The second - and heavily linked - tragedy is the total implosion of Ukip which really did have the opportunity to become the alternative we so desperately needed - but then blew it!

That is my explanation for what happened to, what I suspect, was this nation's last chance. Ukip lost its dignity, its direction, its integrity as petty small-mindedness and pathetic selfishness supplanted the former nobility of the great cause.
Leonard Cohen wrote a song about the end of our world called Closing Time. I am of the view that the God who destroyed Sodom for its appalling behaviour cannot be too far away from delivering divine justice to this wretched world.
