Light of The Gospel Ministries.

March 2023

Dear Friends and Partners in ministry,

Greetings to you from sunny Serbia. Thank you so much for your love and generosity that enables us to make a great impact for the Gospel here in central Serbia. You are a very vital part in everything we do to reach as many people for the Gospel here, in one of the least evangelised regions of Europe.

Prayer – Key to Breakthrough and Revival

Prayer is the foundation of everything we do. Prayer goes first, before anything else, as the monk’s motto says: “Ora at Labora” (Pray and Work). In the first half of December we had a ten-day fast as spiritual preparation for all evangelism that was to follow. We believe that the main emphasis in this period is to reach many souls for the Kingdom. And the only way we can successfully do it is by the power of the Holy Spirit. We pray for people to be hungry for the Lord, we pray for breakthrough and revival in our country. Every Tuesday in the evening we have Prayer for Serbia online on FB and many people are joining from all over. On the 1st of April, we will organise a National Prayer Conference in Belgrade. Lord, send revival to Serbia!

In Schools and Nursery

In this Christmas period in December and January we reached over 300 children with the Gospel in four Kraljevo schools and in one state nursery, and their teachers, principle, staff and parents. It was amazing to be able to share about Jesus and what he has done for us in classrooms, and to explain John 3:16. Most of them heard this message for the very first time. There was also some strong opposition from parents (some parents evenings with teachers and principle had to be organised and there were strong discussions and attacks on us) and teachers, but the Word of God prevailed. In Serbia when you present the Gospel to people, to experience opposition is something normal and to be expected.

Our church shining the Light of the Gospel

In two Christmas service in our Lighthouse Church Kraljevo held on the 6th and 8th January (Christmas is celebrated here at 07th January) there were almost 200 people present with many new faces. What is the most important is that these new people are not only getting saved, but they want to be baptised. When we hear that anybody wants to get baptised, for us it is a big breakthrough and we are very happy.

Through our regular Sunday and midweek services and online ministry (every Sunday service is broadcasted live) we touch many lives with the love of God and train them in righteousness.

Lidija – present and future

Our Lidija is 20 years old now. We just celebrated her birthday on the 20th February. From September last year Lidija started Audacious Bible College that is connected to Audacious Church Manchester. The training is both theoretical and practical in Pastoral Leadership. She has good lectures and is involved practically in different activities of Audacious Church – connect team, pastoral, young adults, worship, children’s choir, small groups.

Lidija is planning to be involved in pastoral and teaching ministry in Serbia when she finishes her theological training. For this she needs a degree, to be able to do her ministry more efficiently and to have more open doors in different areas of our society. So from September this year we plan to send Lidija to AOG Missio Dei Bible College based in Manchester, England, to study for a degree in Theology and Christian Leadership. It is a three-year course. We will need to pay for all her fees, accommodation and living cost. As we have not access to the student’s loan, this will be a very big undertaking for us. We need your help.  Please, pray for this, and please help us by being our Monthly Partner or by donations. Investing into training of new generations will make a massive impact for the Kingdom.

Central Serbia – our mission field

In December we visited and ministered in church in Pozarevac, to strengthen, encourage and bless believers and their amazing Pastors Dragan and Krstina Cvetanovic. We visited believers in Kragujevac in their homes. At the end of last year in Chachak we organised a funeral of our dear and beloved sister Slavica from Priboj who died of cancer. It was a very sad occasion, but many unbelievers heard about Jesus and the need of salvation. I need to add that even at the funeral we faced opposition and strong disapproval from some participants who called us a sect and cult.

Helping the needy

We are a compassionate ministry showing our love and care to everyone, especially to the needy and lacking. This Christmas we gave 420 Christmas parcels to mostly poor children through our different outreach activities, and by visiting them in their homes. We are also regularly supporting several families who are in great need, by helping them with food, bills and other living expenses.

Big thank you

All this is possible only because of you. Your love, prayers and generosity make a massive impact and difference to the needy in central Serbia, and changes their lives for the better in every way. For that we are very grateful and we want to say a Big Thank You to you, our friends and partners. Please, continue to pray for us as we are in a strong spiritual battle here. We know that our war is not against “flesh and blood”.

Yours in Christ,

Sasha & Sara
