Fasil* and Ezana* are seven-year-old twins from a Christian family. In their community in Ethiopia, Christians face persecution from the Muslim majority - their church was attacked, and these young boys even face dangers at school. Their dad, Ermias*, says: "We would be sending our children to school because they need to be educated – but until they came home each day, we would be worried about the risk." Because of Open Doors supporters like you, this wasn't the end of the story for Fasil and Ezana. Local partners have opened a school in the village - for children of any faith - and it's helping bridge the gap between Christians and others. As the local pastor says, "Doing good to the community that is persecuting us – that’s the only way we can change the community." |
