Gender Ideology.

Dear ...,

For more than a decade, gender ideology has invaded every corner of our children’s lives – in schools, sports, healthcare, and even family relationships. Across countries, the stories are tragically similar: children pressured to adopt identities they don’t understand; parents sidelined or silenced; and girls pushed out of sports, stripped of privacy, and told that biological reality no longer matters.

At its core, this ideology demands conformity and punishes those who speak the truth: that boys are boys, and girls are girls. Teachers, counsellors, and medical professionals are told to affirm gender ideology or stay silent. Girls are forced to compete against male athletes. Female-only spaces are erased. Children struggling with identity confusion are rushed toward life-altering decisions rather than receiving genuine care.

A primary priority for ADF International is to challenge this destructive ideology. We are actively engaged at the United Nations, the European Union, and other international bodies, advocating for children, families, and fundamental freedoms.

Ahead of the 2024 Olympics, we hosted a high-level UN event in Geneva to spotlight the urgent need to protect women and girl athletes. British Olympic swimmer, Sharron Davies, spoke passionately about the risks of allowing biological males to compete in women’s sports.

In addition, we organized and hand-delivered a petition to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) headquarters in Lausanne, urging the committee to “keep women’s sports for women.” The petition called on the IOC to ensure that only biological females can compete in women’s sports categories at future Olympic Games. It garnered over 40,000 signatures from supporters around the world.

Thanks to your support, we’ve achieved meaningful progress at the UN over the years. We’ve:

  • Challenged attempts to redefine sex and family in international law, warning that vague gender terminology undermines women’s rights, parental authority, and child protection.

  • Supported states in successfully defending parental rights, affirming that parents, not governments, have the primary responsibility for their children’s upbringing.

  • Advocated for freedom of conscience and expression, opposing efforts to silence counsellors, doctors, and educators who refuse to affirm gender ideology against their professional judgment.

  • Spoken up for women and girls globally, highlighting how gender ideology erases sex-based protections in sports, prisons, shelters, and healthcare.

Our colleagues at Alliance Defending Freedom in the U.S. are standing side-by-side with two states, West Virginia and Idaho, in defence of female athletes. The upcoming cases at the U.S. Supreme Court ask the simple question: can American states pass commonsense laws protecting women’s sports? State of West Virginia v. B.P.J. and Little v. Hecox highlight the cost of ignoring biological reality. ADF clients Madison Kenyon, Mary Kate Marshall and Lainey Armistead lost medals, podium places, and scholarship opportunities simply because males were allowed to compete in women’s sports. Their futures, privacy, safety, and dignity were compromised.

Now, alongside the attorneys general of West Virginia and Idaho, they are asking the U.S. Supreme Court to allow states to restore fairness and safety in women’s athletics. They are standing not only for themselves, but for every girl who trains hard and dreams big.

This precedent-setting case will be heard tomorrow, 13 January. As this critical moment approaches, we ask you to join us in prayer. Pray specifically for ADF clients as they courageously stand before the Supreme Court tomorrow; for children to be protected from confusion and harm; for fairness, dignity, and safety to be preserved for girls and women; for judges, lawmakers, and global leaders, that they may have the courage to defend truth and biological reality; and lastly, for our legal teams who are actively challenging gender ideology around the world.

If you are able, please consider supporting this vital work. Your generosity fuels our advocacy efforts around the world.

The truth is simple – but defending it requires courage. Thank you for standing with us, praying with us, and believing that truth, compassion, and reality must never be abandoned, especially when children are at stake.

With gratitude and hope,
