I love good hymns and worship songs but I do regret the 'throwing the baby out with the bathwater' situation which obtains in many churches.By this, I mean that all newer songs are adopted - whether or not they are better than what they are replacing.
Many of the more modern songs are not even designed for corporate worship yet that is how they are used.
If you want to avoid the social idea of 'change for change's sake' - which is always destined to make things worse - you really should select from a variety of sources.
