'Uninsured cars to be crushed' says Government!

The minister in charge is claiming that 'crushing uninsured vehicles' will help solve the problem of the estimated 1 million uninsured drivers on our roads. Oh dear. It sounds remarkably like a CRACK DOWN to me.
For the uninformed and optimistic, there will be three guaranteed outcomes to all of this:
1) A minute handful of cars will actually be crushed - whatever is said - it ain't gonna happen. Magistrates already have sufficient powers to destroy certain vehicles and GUIDELINES do not permit them to use these. (I never saw it happen - not even once!)
2) Everything will carry on just as it did before and
3) No attempts will be made to ensure that the guilty are severely punished when they use an uninsured vehicle. AND, if they were to be disqualified in court - if they ignore this THEY WILL NOT BE JAILED!

Excellent! Hooray!
