Priorities.


In the 16th Century, Spanish picaresque novel, Lazarillo de Tormes, the starving man with airs and graces is presented with a piece of begged-for bread by his 'boy'. Before deigning to eat, he demands to know whether the bread had 'been kneaded with clean hands.' Sigh.
