Breaking Good.

Incredible drama - and might I suggest, a startling morality tale too? I finally got to the end of a very long haul this week and consider the journey to have been most worthwhile. Constantly, Walter White's amorality is contrasted with a variety of responses found in other characters. There are those who, on the surface, appear worse than he - but in the final analysis, he has to be more answerable for his conduct because of his superior intelligence.
I look at this and see a story which echoes the damage done to everybody else by Adam in the Garden. Walter wreaks chaos on countless people in order to satisfy his twisted ego. His family was his excuse but they are also damaged beyond repair. Disturbing in the extreme but this cautionary marathon made me think more deeply than I have done in ages. Would the feeble-minded want to copy him for the huge amounts of money involved? - Maybe, but they would be doomed to fail as they clearly lack the requisite intelligence. Surely, brighter folks would be deterred for life.
Some might take an opposite view - but the director never glorifies the evil - only shows us the alarming consequences.
