Three churches in Khartoum were told this week that their buildings would be bulldozed by today. They remain standing…..for now.
Pray for our Christian family in Sudan, and especially these three congregations in the Hajj Yousef area of Sudan’s capital.
Officials served notice of the planned demolitions on Monday and announced the churches would be destroyed within 72 hours. The churches, which belong to the Baptist and Sudan Church of Christ denominations, are taking legal action to try to prevent the demolitions.
Meanwhile, three imprisoned pastors appeared in court in Khartoum yesterday: the charges against them are not yet known but they are expected to be prosecuted for ‘crimes against the state’.
Abdulmonem Abdumawla Issa Abdumawla and hearing in the three pastors’ trial is set for August 14.
