Getting It Right.

Michael Brown talks Trump, New Atheists and greatest danger to American Evangelicalism.

In recent years, large numbers of people in the United States, including prominent Christian public figures, have left Christianity and no longer identify with a religious affiliation.
Author and radio host Michael Brown is tackling this issue in his latest book with the hopes of reaching out to Christians who are doubting their beliefs, or "deconstructing their faith" to show them why they should remain in the faith.
Titled Why So Many Christians Have Left the Faith (Charisma House), Brown examines the reasons for the increase of religiously unaffiliated Americans, and how to respond to these challenges.
In an interview with The Christian Post last Friday, Brown said Christians leaving the faith en masse is “something that's going on that had to be addressed.” CP.
Blogger: I do not wish to appear to show little regret for the above scenario - because I do always lament the thought of people taking a hell-bound path.
My point is, rather, that the Church will benefit greatly from the absence of those unwilling to 'walk the walk'.
In similar vein, I wish to see churches which fail to adhere to Gospel teaching, have to shut their doors. We are all better off without them. Such establishments only damage the propagation of the Gospel.
If God wants revival in dead souls or places of worship which no longer are - He alone can supply that.
Please pray for that revival but always remember:
Hebrews 6.
4) It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, 5) who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age 6) and who have fallen[c] away, to be brought back to repentance. To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace.
We must, nonetheless, try unceasingly to shore up the faith of all Christians who are struggling or wavering in their faith. Like Jesus - it should be our desire that all might be saved.
I once recall being present when the famed AOG Pastor Harry Webb (who began 26 new Churches in his awesome ministry) was proffering advice to a young man who had just taken over a moribund Church. He Said emphatically: "To succeed you must first clear out ALL the dead wood!"
20 years later and long after the closure of that sad Church, this pastor said to me: " I so wish that I'd followed Pastor Webb's advice."
It is a fine balance between love and Godly pragmatism.
