Net Zero Dooms Our Population To Long-term Poverty - Combine This With Uncontrolled Immigration and We Are Dead in The Water!

Labour has finally come

clean about the real

cost of net zero.

Britain’s legal targets will temporarily push energy bills higher, in
spite of Ed Miliband’s previous assurances

With Britain already facing some of the highest energy prices globally, Labour expects us to pay even more – all in the name of net zero. On Tuesday, it was forecasted that the energy price cap was on course to rise by £85 in April, taking a typical household’s bill to the equivalent of £1,823 per year. Another forecast by Government officials has put the coming increase at closer to £100.
This Labour government has backtracked or failed to deliver on nearly every promise they made during the election. First, it was taxes, then pensioners, farmers, and small businesses – and now, the entire country is paying the price for their reckless net zero plans.
This crisis could be avoided by ending our reliance on foreign energy by utilising the liquid gold of oil and gas we have in the North Sea and onshore and scrapping our onerous legal targets. But Labour will never take these steps because they hold a deep-rooted disregard for the British public – and are funded by green companies. According to official data, the electricity price paid by British industrial companies is already the highest in the developed world. Domestic power prices are also among the highest. This is not just a threat to the UK’s biggest industrial companies, but has consequences that will be felt in every home across the United Kingdom.
No country in the history of the world has ever achieved growth with such ridiculous energy prices. Having cheap and reliable energy is the foundation of a thriving economy, higher paid jobs, and high industrial output. To put it in perspective, the United States has energy prices that are 60 per cent lower than ours and their economy is growing at 3 per cent. China has energy prices that are a third of ours and their economy is growing at 5 per cent. There is a direct correlation between energy prices and economic growth, a fact one would expect the Energy Secretary to understand.
Ed Miliband insists that a clean power system by 2030 will lower bills by reducing reliance on gas-fired power. Instead, Labour plans to dominate the grid with wind, solar, and costly energy storage – much of it locked into fixed-price contracts. Their love affair with expensive and inefficient energy will be felt across the country.
Last month, Miliband told MPs on the energy select committee that it was “the roller coaster of fossil fuel markets” that had triggered the cost of living crisis for millions of households in 2022. He added: “There is an answer to this, in our view, which is clean home-grown power that we control. That is the right thing for energy security, for bringing down bills for good, for creating good jobs and for tackling the climate crisis.”
As it turns out, and as Ed Miliband must have known all along, this would never be the case. There is no way to implement net zero without raising costs for the foreseeable future. As disillusionment with both Labour and the Conservatives continues to grow, Reform UK stands as the clear choice for those seeking real change in this country. We are the party committed to ideas that work to lower energy bills instead of ideological decisions that hike costs.
We are the only party committed to scrapping net zero, lowering energy bills, and securing a strong economic future for generations to come. We live in a country that is run by people with no experience in the real world. Reform UK is made up of businessmen, wealth creators and entrepreneurs – and understand how to end this self-inflicted pain.
