NO - I know that readers may well find this impossible to believe but there is some evidence. IDS and his think tank have got it into their heads that a £1,600 tax break for married couples is socially more advantageous than a simple raising of tax thresholds to £10,000k.

As this would support marriage - it will of course, put the Lib Dems off. I LIKE it!
