25,000 Dead Pensioners?

A report suggests that 25,000 UK pensioners will die because they are unable to afford heating this winter.
Living in a city the size of Sheffield that must mean dozens - maybe even into three figures.
Astonishingly the local rag hasn't reported a single case in many years.
Poor journalism or just more stats from The Ministry of Guesswork?
