Thirty five years ago, a leading tax official told me personally that the higher taxes are - the less revenue is collected.
Of course, at that time, Harold Wilson's Super Tax was very fresh in the memory.
Sadly, the real suckers are those of us on PAYE who make for easy targets when all else has failed!
