Lib Dem Recovery.

Do not be too frightened by the headline above - it does not promise to be a massive problem. Even so, Cleggie has acted quite intelligently for once. Cable's remarks on 'more immigration needed' will certainly antagonise a huge swathe of the electorate but there is one group who will like it a lot, the same as they will love all the taxation twaddle that has been trotted out. I refer, of course, to the 'real Lib Dems' - the Ivory Towerites along with the disconnected-with-reality and real people brigade.
These are the Lib Dems who understand Lib Dem aims who threw themselves wholeheartedly into Labour and the Greens whilst sulking about Cleggie and the coalition. Many of these will return. It may only be a small victory - engaging with your core support - but that is what Clegg will have done. Their numbers are happily small but when the Lib Dems make a small recovery - that is just excellent for their failing band of no-hopers.
