Rochester & Strood by-election: Ukip storm ahead in poll. THE United Kingdom Independence Party (Ukip) has stormed ahead in our Rochester and Strood by-election online poll.

So far, 1,150 people have taken part in the survey, intended to provide a snapshot of voting intent ahead of the vote, expected to be held next month. Voters have overwhelmingly backed Ukip with more than 77 per cent of the vote.
