When England won the toss on Thursday and decided to bat, I thought that this was probably a mistake. Atmospheric conditions were aiding swing bowlers and Pakistan could have been put on the rack.
With little doubt, I'll risk saying that they would have been skittled for a low score. Moreover, weather forecasts clearly showed that the better batting days would begin after Thursday.
The Pakistan team were reeling from their improbable defeat in the third test and psychologically, it would have continued the pressure if they had been made to bat first.
A major trick was missed by Captain Cook. England gained an average score and yesterday they struggled to take wickets on a near perfect batting track. Pakistan capitalised!
A string of dropped catches and England are extremely lucky to find themselves still vaguely in this match at all with a whole nine sessions yet to be played.
Only an excellent opening hour from the seamers will allow England to do anything other than to prepare for defeat on the fifth (perhaps even the fourth) day.
The only alternative would be for England to bat through five or six of the remaining sessions - and we all know how improbable that is with England's middle order currently so weak.
Self explanatory title. I abhor that nicey nicey, politically correct, pseudo-Christianity which almost always supports leftwing attitudes - which in most cases are profoundly anti-Gospel. This Blog supports persecuted Christians. This Blog exposes cults. This Blog opposes junk science. UPDATED DAILY. This is not a forum. This Blog supports truly Christian websites and aids their efforts. It is hardhitting and unashamedly evangelical so if it offends - please do not come to this site!
