Ignore Basic, Historical Evidence - Why Don't You?

"Most scholars – both Christian and non-Christians – agree that Jesus of Nazareth did once walk the Earth, but was not sent by a higher power."
I read the article of which this formed a part and seldom have I seen such a piece of condescending tripe.
Instead of using all of the evidence, these 'scholars' begin from the unshakable premise that the Scriptures must be totally ignored and only secular history is acceptable.
Why? - There is more than enough internal evidence in the Gospels alone for a substantive conclusion to be reached.
The small amounts of secular and Jewish history regarding Jesus and His life are merely a bonus.
As ever - we are dealing with the arrogance of the intellectual classes.
Did the Temple Curtain split or not at the time of Jesus's crucifixion? - The Gospel writers aver that it did - and wrote about it extensively. If this had not occurred - all those still alive from Jerusalem would have known this as a lie. The Gospel accounts would have been a laughing stock in the first century - even if Mark's Gospel was written as late as the 64/65 AD claimed by 'experts'. (Which it wasn't!)
This is one piece of 'internal evidence'. There is so much more!

Question: What do you do when your pastor embraces gender ideology? - Debra Baty,

Err ... move to a Christian Church!
