Well, as I pick up the threads of the test match, with the score at a respectable level - if the England tail wags - a decent score is still possible at time of writing on Day Two.
The England batting has been more professional than in previous matches.
The first day's play saw the ball both bouncing and turning from the excellent Indian spinners who seldom bowled a poor ball. You really do not expect that degree of assistance from a first day pitch. But this is India.
Young Jennings made a super century on debut - and like the damaged Hameed - really looked the part after a rather hairy, opening quarter of an hour as he adjusted his style to the demands of sub-continent cricket.
Ashwin showed why he is the best bowler in the world at the moment by taking an excellent sixfer and Jadeja never fails to impress. Prodigious amounts of spin were achieved by both.
When will England find spinners even half of that combined quality?
This test is beautifully poised with India having to bat last on a surface which is already deteriorating. But in spite of England's improvements - who would dare to back against India?
Late Final: 400 all out with brilliant batting from Buttler and Ball putting England firmly in the driving seat on this rather nasty pitch! Play well from this fine base and a victory should be taken.
Self explanatory title. I abhor that nicey nicey, politically correct, pseudo-Christianity which almost always supports leftwing attitudes - which in most cases are profoundly anti-Gospel. This Blog supports persecuted Christians. This Blog exposes cults. This Blog opposes junk science. UPDATED DAILY. This is not a forum. This Blog supports truly Christian websites and aids their efforts. It is hardhitting and unashamedly evangelical so if it offends - please do not come to this site!
