Men may be equal as regards the love of God but not in
all that many other ways.
Let us take the entire wealth of the UK and divide it
up equally for every single person.
We then have perfect equality and some - given the
opportunity - would rise up to the challenge of improving our nation right up to
the point when they find that the inevitable, punitive taxation does not make it
worth their while.
A mighty lethargy would then bring the nation near to
collapse - not at all dissimilar to what happened with those occupying basic
jobs in the USSR.
Their impoverished, backward nation ground on so
slowly, the country with the greatest expanses of the richest soil in the world,
ended up importing wheat from the 'wicked capitalists' of N.
America!
Broker in the failings of mankind: stoopidity,
extravagance, gambling, drugs, idleness inter al, and just how many
years would it take for there to be nearly as many people destitute as there are
now?
My considered guess is fewer than
