The Point: Indoctrinating Kindergarteners
September 1, 2017
Yes,
it can happen at your school too. For the Colson Center, I’m John Stonestreet
with The Point.
They’re coming for our kids. That’s the only way to put it
after last week’s news of a California charter school that held a “gender
reveal” celebration in a class full of kindergarteners. A little boy—in
kindergarten—reportedly switched clothes in front of his classmates to reveal
his new identity, and the teacher read two children’s books about being
transgender.
“My
daughter came home crying and shaking so afraid she could turn into a boy,” said
one mom at the school board meeting. Apparently, the school hadn’t bothered to
notify the parents about this lesson in “gender identity.”
And
as Rod Dreher points out, kids in homeschool or private school situations aren’t
exempt from this stuff either. LGBT groups are pressuring accrediting bodies to
include gender identity in curriculum standards. If lawmakers don’t hear from us
loud and clear and they get their way, such requirements would soon apply to
everyone.
Folks,
we must stand between the culture and our kids, wherever they go to school. My
new book “A Practical Guide to Culture” can
help.
