Jimmy's 500th Wicket.

Well done to James Anderson - far and away England's most successful wicket-taker in all of test history. Yesterday, he made it to 501!
Only two seam bowlers have ever bettered that score -  Glenn McGrath (Australia) and Courteney Walsh (W. Indies.).
If the 35 year old can take just 64 more - he will become the best seamer of all time.
(There is no prospect of chasing down the all-time top three - all of whom are spin bowlers and have spent huge amounts of their cricketing lives bowling on dry and dusty Asian pitches.
If we are honest, Shane Warne is probably the best bowler of all time when we take into account pitches, different types of bowlers and wickets taken. The stats say 'Muralitharan' at 92 ahead of him was the best - but statistics can often mislead.)

Sorry Folks.

This Blogger has not got sufficient patience to report on England Cricket!
