Some were not jailed at all; some for as little as five years; others for fifteen.
It is a long time since I have been so very angry. These verminous individuals kidnapped, exploited and abused a number of men who were enslaved by them!
ENSLAVED for years and the perpetrators of this evil are not to receive any punishment commensurate to their wicked actions. Indeed, it is quite feasible that some of the very worst will not even serve a double figure sentence in their comfortable prison.
Nobody should have received a sentence under twenty years for perpetrating this evil. Thirty years should have been the norm!
Just what deterrent are these absurdly lenient disposals? A message should have been sent out to 'the travelling community' as it is so erroneously described.
