The Change.UK Independent Group Interim leader Heidi Allen was confronted by BBC’s Victoria Derbyshire as the BBC host revealed a video where the MP insisted that the country needed to support Brexit to uphold democracy. The BBC presenter forced the Remainer to explain why the British people should trust her now if her views have so drastically changed on Brexit. The video shows the MP in 2017 saying: “This is democracy. We might not all like the result, I was a Remainer.
But the minute we stop ignoring the democratic will of the people in this country, we are slipping very quickly towards the banana republic I don’t want to live in.”
Mrs Derbyshire then turned to the seemingly stunned Remainer and asked why anyone should trust what she says now on the issue of Brexit. Express.
