Yet More Mistakes In TV/Film and Novels Which Feature Police Procedure.

1) Nobody is 'read their rights' in the UK. This is American and would need the suspect 'to be cautioned'.

2) There is no such thing as 'promotion to detective'. eg) A police constable and detective constable share the same rank.

3) Police 'partners' do not exist in the UK. Certain drivers will often share their car with the same PC but this is NOT any sort of partnership.

4) Bodies are NEVER taken to the 'morgue'. We do not have such. They may go to the mortuary - or possibly a Medico-Legal Centre but that is all.
