In the UK we have lost some 98% of our wild flowers in the last century which is because of the heavy agricultural farming methods employed. In towns I am sure that you will already be aware of the damage to so many growing plants caused by necessary - and unnecessary - concrete and tarmac.
The real problem is how much this costs us as a nation in terms of lost insects, butterflies - and even more importantly - the bees which pollinate so many crops.
