Yet again, the claim of innocence for Timothy Evans, hanged for the murder of his wife and child in 1950, is being put forward. This is one myth I really had felt was permanently debunked - but no. Years after, the son of this Eddowes was so utterly disgusted by his late father's dishonesty in this case that he wrote a book which is now the definitive version on these events. The dubious and dishonest tactics used in the 'martyr creation' are fully outlined.

Hanratty, the A6 murderer, was unsurprisingly confirmed as guilty by forensic work a few years ago by Wetherby Forensic Laboratory.
