Persecution Of Christians In Laos.

'Lao officials recently ordered the confiscation of a fourth church building in Savannakhet – causing other congregations in the province to fear that they may be targeted in the same way.
The most recent closure came on the eve of Good Friday, when officials ordered the closure of Khamnonsung church in Saybuli district, on the ground that its congregation had not had planning permission to build. The church, which has more than 700 members, was built 49 years ago, say Release partners.
The closure notice followed a three-day 'seminar' which officials held in the village and obliged locals to attend. One of the main topics covered was reportedly the alleged ploys that Western powers are using to 'destabilise the Lao state', including promoting Christianity.' (Release Int.)
