Ring-tailed Parakeets.

It still comes as a surprise to many to see noisy flocks of bright green parrots in London’s central parks or in coastal towns of Kent and Sussex. Even more surprising is their recent spread to Scottish cities. In only 50 years their numbers have gone from zero to more than 30,000. They have become so widespread that, under new legislation, pest-control officers can demand access to private land – such as your garden or mine – to eradicate them, along with other damaging invasive species. Fine but WHAT ABOUT CORVIDAE infestations, especially magpies?
