EU free movement rules let convicted murderer into UK who attacked police with a hammer.
EU FREE movement rules allowed a murderer to enter Britain unchallenged who attacked a woman police officer and her colleague with a hammer, a court heard. Afghan-born Dutch citizen Jamshid Piruz, 35, was yesterday jailed for life after lashing out at two police constables with a hammer after he was cornered during a break-in.
A court heard he served six years of a 12-year sentence in Holland after slitting the throat of his female tenant.
He then came to Britain in December 2015 and days later on January 7 last year he was spotted attempting a tool shed burglary.
