So. I go into the Leeds Building Society and ask for £400 cash. They refuse to pay me it.
That's gotta be wrong - hasn't it? Can they legitimately refuse people?
Well apparently, they can. They have a really appalling get-out clause which they use on certain individuals.
They point out that neither do I have an account with them nor have I ever paid any money in.
Sorry to be so banal - but isn't that rather similar to what is happening in the title of this piece?
Enjoy the extract below and learn from verse 15 onwards.
Psalm 34.
15) The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
and his ears are attentive to their cry;
16) but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil,
to blot out their name from the earth.17) The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them;
he delivers them from all their troubles.
18) The Lord is close to the brokenhearted
and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
